Alltech® Philippines — Art Contest

Despite its abundance of natural resources, the Philippines suffers from food insecurity, which has been a constant issue in the country despite sustained economic growth.

The Philippines placed 146^th out of 171 countries in the Global Food Security Index Q2 2022. The index was constructed from 40 food security indicators divided into three main dimensions: food accessibility; crisis level; and food system and economy resilience. With an overall food security index score of 5.05 out of the possible 10, the Philippines ranked last among its peers in the East and Southeast Asia. The COVID-19 pandemic, along with the Philippines' vulnerability to natural disasters, highlighted the importance of improving food security in the country. The agriculture sector has been hailed as the "backbone of the Philippine economy," but its full potential has not been realized due to some food system inefficiencies. With such challenges, it serves as a wake-up call for the Philippine government to look for opportunities to rebuild the agricultural value chain to assure food supply.

Alltech Philippines invites kids aged 5 – 14 years old to join at this year’s art contest with the theme “Pagkaing sapat para sa Pilipino: Working towards a food-secure Philippines.” So, let your mind wander and imagine a food-secure Philippines through creative possibilities.

Online Painting Submission - Rules and Terms & Conditions

Online painting submission rules:
- The artwork should be made on a paper medium – canvas/drawing sheet with A3 size. (297 mm x 420 mm or 11.7 in x 16.5 in)
- Acceptable art mediums include crayon, watercolors, oil paints, acrylic paints, coloured posters, coloured pencils or pastels.
- The theme “Pagkaing sapat para sa Pilipino: Working towards a food-secure Philippines” should be the main focus of the artwork.
- Entries should be submitted online. Completed artwork needs to be scanned and soft copy should be uploaded on the form included on this website. Include two-to-three sentence story explaining the thought process and inspiration behind it.
- Do not alter or modify the scanned artwork submitted online. If there is any difference between the submitted scanned artwork and the original, the submission will be rejected.
- Do not mount or frame your artwork
- No photographs or digital artwork will be accepted
- Do not attach labels, ribbons, etc., to the front of your artwork
- Artwork must be unsigned by the artist

Terms and conditions
- Each participant shall only submit one piece of artwork.
- The artwork should be an individual effort of a child, whereas parents/teachers are allowed only to direct and inspire.
- No artwork will be accepted that has been copied from any published source or any other artist’s creative work. Each entry must be original in concept, design, and execution.
- Alltech is not responsible for the loss or damage of the artwork during submission.
- All artworks submitted for the competition become the property of Alltech and will not be returned.
- The decision of the Alltech Art Contest judges is final.
- Participation in the Alltech Art Contest implies acceptance of all the terms and conditions.
Choosing of Winners:
- All submitted artworks will be collected and judged by Alltech Philippines management based on the story, inspiration and its relevance to the theme.
- Artwork will be divided and judged by age groups. Alltech Philippines management will choose 10 entries for each age groups. Shortlisted entries will be uploaded on the Alltech Asia Pacific Facebook page for online voting. Four winners will be selected for each age group and winners will be chosen based on interactions received (likes) – 50% and Alltech Philippines committee scores – 50% for a total of 100%.
- Age Groups:
  - 5 – 8 years old
  - 9 – 11 years old
  - 12 – 14 years old

- The results of the contest will be announced on December 16, 2022, on our Alltech Asia Pacific Facebook page. They will also be notified via email.

Prize:

The winners will be awarded with a cash prize of Php 3,000, a certificate and Alltech goodies.
Each age group winner has the opportunity to win an additional Php 5,000, as determined by the Alltech Philippines committee.

All the winners must send their original artwork to the Alltech office on request. There should be no differences between the original artwork and the scan copy submitted

The winners’ artwork will be published in the 2023 Alltech Philippines calendar.
