Signs of approaching farrowing

Sows are highly individual in their behaviour and timings pre-farrowing, and records regarding their behaviour should be maintained to assist in predicting subsequent parturition. Nesting behaviour occurs up to three days before farrowing, and straw bedding should be provided to facilitate this behaviour.
