Maren Rullestad is very interested in project work and research, making her role at Alltech as project manager a perfect fit. She holds a master's degree in aquaculture from the University of Bergen and has previously worked as an operation technician at Mowi.
Maren is committed to making the aquaculture industry more sustainable and improving fish welfare. With a broad understanding of and experience in biology, research, and project work, she has used her expertise and organizational skills to lead a large R&D project at Alltech over the past 3 years that focuses on exactly this..
Hans Jákup Jacobsen is the Research and Development Manager at Havsbrún, a leading producer of high-quality fishmeal, fish oil, and fish feed in the Faroe Islands. Havsbrún is deeply committed to sustainability and maximizing resource efficiency. They produce fish feed based on global and locally produced raw materials, aiming to create high-quality feed for the production of premium salmon.
Hans Jákup holds a PhD from the University of Bergen and has extensive knowledge in raw material processing, feed processing, fish nutrition, and resource utilization in aquaculture. His experience ranges from academic research to industry-focused practical applications. In recent years, he has led several large-scale feed trials focusing on how feed concepts affect product quality, production efficiency, and the environment.
Marta Bou is a researcher at Nofima, one of Norway's leading food and aquaculture research institutions. With a PhD in fish nutrition from NMBU, Marta has extensive experience understanding how nutrition affects growth, health, and welfare in farmed fish.
Marta has worked on several research projects investigating how feed ingredients can improve both sustainability and fish health. Her work contributes to developing innovative feed solutions that promote sustainable aquaculture.
She is also involved in several international collaborative projects, and her research is known for combining practical solutions with scientific depth.
Will Streatfeild is Key Account Lead for Alltech E-CO2, managing several projects and leading on sustainability mitigation advice for farmers, processors and retailers.
Over the five years he has worked for Alltech, Will has held a few regional and global roles, giving him a broad overview of the company and its global business. Having graduated from the University of Reading and completing his undergraduate dissertation on Carbon Footprinting dairy farms, Will specialised in Herd Health management, working on farms in New Zealand and the U.K., culminating as herd manager for a 1200-cow dairy farm in Somerset.
Wills’ mix of sustainability and science theory from Reading and practical background in herd management have given him the unique position of bringing clarity and practicality to supply chain advice.
Dr Brett Glencross is the Technical Director of IFFO (The Marine Ingredients Organisation). Prior to this he was the Professor of Nutrition at the Institute of Aquaculture at the University of Stirling in Scotland. Over the past 25 years he has worked across various domains with experience in academia, regulatory, institutional, and industrial roles in the Asia-Pacific, Middle East, and Europe. His work has a strong practical focus, resulting in the development of new processes, products, and applications, most notably in the aquaculture feed sector. He is the past Chair of the Scientific Committee of the International Society for Fish Nutrition and holds directorships on several companies in the UK, as well as previously being a director of the Asia-Pacific Chapter of the World Aquaculture Society.
He has Honours and Masters Degrees in Biochemistry from the University of Western Australia and a PhD in Animal Nutrition from the University of Queensland.
